Challenge 2, Days 27 & 28: (Not) Finishing Strong

Two words for how Disneyland and the trip to San Diego went in terms of our fitness challenge: Epic. Fail. (In terms of how it went otherwise, it was an absolute blast!)

Since this is our fitness blog and we strive to be as honest as possible about things, we have to say that we did a terrible job at avoiding junk food and sweets. At the time, every scrumptious item - beignets, french toast, butter-loaded popcorn, enormous amounts of pasta, mountains of chips and dip, and churros - we put in our mouths was definitely a chance for us to say YOLO (you only live once). Afterwards, we not only felt the pang of regret but also wanted to roll out of restaurants. While we weren't quite able to roll out of places, we did waddle.

As much as we love being with the family, it is extremely hard to control ourselves with the amount and type of food we eat. When they keep enjoying more and more delicious food, we want to partake. Avoiding our family for the sake of avoiding bad food is not an option - we need to learn how to enjoy things in moderation when we are around them. It is a work in progress, but we are sure it is something we can accomplish with time and a whole lot of hard work.

For now, it is back to the drawing board.
